Brand Revitalization for a Progressive College Prep School

Overview

This project aimed to refresh and unify the communication images and messaging for a progressive college prep school that sought to revitalize its brand identity. With a shrinking enrollment, the goal was to modernize and elevate the school’s visual presence while maintaining its commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and innovation. Through a series of strategic design initiatives, I helped create a cohesive and engaging brand identity that resonated with both prospective students and parents, and reinforced the school’s core values.

Project Scope

I worked closely with the school’s marketing team to develop a comprehensive set of materials, including both digital and print assets, which would be distributed across various channels. This involved:

Brand Identity Design: I reimagined the school’s imagery to reflect its forward-thinking, inclusive nature. By blending modern typography with vibrant colors and contemporary graphics, I developed a visual identity that felt fresh and aligned with the school’s progressive values.

Print Materials: Designed brochures, flyers, and posters that communicated the school’s mission, programs, and achievements in a visually compelling way. These materials were used for outreach, recruitment events, and general promotion.

Digital Assets: Created web banners, email templates, and social media graphics to ensure the school’s digital presence was as dynamic and cohesive as its physical marketing materials.

Merchandise: Developed custom stickers, magnets, t-shirts, and other promotional items to help build school spirit and create a sense of community. These items were also distributed at events and used for student and alumni engagement.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge: The school had an existing, somewhat outdated visual identity that was not resonating with its target audience.

Solution: Through a thoughtful process of research and collaboration, I focused on injecting energy into the design elements, using vibrant colors, modern typography, and student-centric visuals to capture the school’s unique essence.

Impact

The redesigned branding materials helped to unify the school’s messaging across various touchpoints, leading to stronger engagement with prospective students, increased visibility for the school’s initiatives, and enhanced school pride among current students and alumni. The refreshed branding played a key role in shaping the school’s modern identity and setting it apart from other institutions.
