Project
Events and SWAG for College Admissions Department Relaunch
Overview
This project focused on developing a comprehensive event plan complete with print and digital communications to support the college admissions department’s relaunch of in-person events post-COVID-19. The goal was to create a cohesive and engaging event strategy that would attract prospective students, connect with their families, and generate excitement about the college’s offerings. The plan involved designing both print and digital materials that aligned with the college’s established branding.

Project Scope
I created a full suite of promotional materials aimed at the relaunch of in-person events and enhancing the overall admissions experience. This included:
Print Marketing Materials:
A series of printed materials was created that included event posters, brochures, flyers, and postcards that could be distributed on campus and at events. The designs were crafted to ensure consistency with the college’s visual identity while adding a playful, energetic twist to engage the next generation of students.
SWAG Marketing Strategy:
As part of the event plan, I also developed a set of branded SWAG (stickers, pins, bandanas, etc.) to be handed out at admissions events. These items served as both promotional materials and memorable giveaways that encouraged students and families to interact with the admissions team and feel more connected to the school.
Event Promotion and Outreach:
The event plan focused on creating excitement around in-person admissions events by utilizing both print and digital channels for promotion. I worked closely with the team to ensure that each marketing piece was strategically timed and distributed to maximize attendance and engagement.
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: The admissions department needed to craft a event strategy that appealed to a generation of student returning to in-person events while staying true to the college’s traditional image.
Solution: By modernizing design elements, I was able to blend the college’s classic branding with a fresh, youthful vibe. The digital and print materials were designed to be visually striking and engaging, creating excitement around the events while maintaining the school’s collegiate look.
Impact
The event plan successfully increased engagement for the college’s relaunch of in-person events, with a significant uptick in attendance and interaction from prospective students and their families. Both the digital and print materials were praised for their ability to engage the target audience in an approachable, fun way, while staying true to the college’s established identity.
